Color me yellow
1996 was a big year. I was going to complete the car this year and bring it to some Good Guys events
maybe even the Grand National Roadster show, but ya know; sometimes plans have a way of being derailed.
While I have painted individual body panels before, this was my first complete paint job, I chose bright yellow.
I built a paint booth out of clear plastic in my garage. Just before I started painting I sprayed the entire garage
with insect spray, the last thing you want is little critters in your fresh paint job.
I used PPG Deltron a two stage acrylic base/clear coat system. I painted four coats of base color and four coats
of clear. The entire process took about 6 hours allowing time for the paint to flash between coats.
It came out very nice and met my expectation. But didn't last very long.
